 Did we rock around the Clock or What!

Whoa what a great night we had with the Roadhouse Rockers on the 20th April. Over 130 people enjoyed the night with great feedback received. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and don't forget our next dance function will be in the 28th July with a Christmas in July theme. Another great band is assured and we want to break the 150 mark for attendees. So mark your diary now. Rule out Saturday the 28th July; tell your family tell your friends. Check out a couple of photos in the 2012 gallery. If you to publish your photos from the night please email them to publicity@portrocknroll.com.au

 Our third series of lessons get underway next week so if you know of anyone who was thinking of coming along it is time to get in touch with them and let them know lesson 1 will start on the 8th May. Since the beginning of the year we have had a number of people come along, some of these have not continued so again if you are aware of any of these people a gentle word in their ear to say that the course is starting again would be greatly appreciated. A slightly different format will occur from next week as well. Check out the regular event section in the newsletter for the details.

In this newleter you will find a list of exciting events coming about including our trip the Laurieton Markets followed by a BBQ and dance at Dunbogan. Check out the rest of this newsletter for all the details. Oh and don't forget it is Mothers Day on the 13th. Happy Mothers day to all the Mums reading this newsletter. Perhaps a club shirt or jacket would be the perfect gift!

Big news as well. We are running a competition in conjuction with Panthers. A new Rock and Roll festival is in the wind for later this year or early next year and it requires a new name. So put your thinking caps on and come up with an exciting name and you may win a dinner for two at Panthers.

For all those members who have volunteered for the Ironman this Sunday don't forget to check the roster to see what time you are on. If not sure please contact Jeff Prigg who will assist.

Wednesday night social dancing is rocketing along with 16 people there last week. It is fast becoming the midweek social dancing event! Don't forget if you are not sure of a move and want to practice it, we have some experienced dancers available on Wednesdays to help you.

We hope you enjoy our newsletters and if you have any great stories, photos or events that you want to share with all your RNR mates please email me at publicity@portrocknroll.com.au and I will make sure they are included in the next issue.

Regular RnR Dance Club Activities

Tuesday night Rock'n'Roll and Swing Jive Lessons are always a popular way to spend a mid-week night. Socialise and learn some dance moves as well. Cost of the night is only $5 members $8 non-members.. The format for Tuesday night will be;

Beginner's Class                    7.00pm

Rock and Roll Class 1            7.20pm

ROck and ROll Class 2           8.15pm (advancing class)

Wednesday Rockers is a social and dance evening at the Port Girl Guides Hall, Hollingworths Street PM every Wednesday from 7pm. Wednesday nights has a very strong social aspect, so get along to meet and dance with other club members. Don't be shy about asking more experienced dancers to show you a few moves or give you some tips. Getting along to Wednesday Rockers makes good sense and it's an inexpensive night out too. Cost is only $5. Dances are not progressive (in a circle) and if you want to play music of your choice we can also arrange. You can bring your own nibbles and drinks and coffee/ tea is available.

Sunday@Paws Our next Sunday at Paws will be this Sunday the  6th May.. This is a great social outing in the relaxed atmosphere of the Paws Lounge in the Panthers Complex. Dancing commences at 4.00pm and goes through to 6.00pm. Why not make an afternoon of it and have dinner in the bistro? We would like to see as many people there as possible so why not come along. For those of you not familiar with our Sunday afternoon format, it is a very informal social dance where you can pick the music you want to dance to.

McInherney Park Beach BBQ Sunday - Our next BBQ will be on the 27th May commencing at 12 noon. That's right we have changed the venue to McInherney Park. What a great way to spend a lazy Sunday Afternoon. Go for a paddle, have a swim enjoy great music and fantastic company. Don't forget the new venue.

To give you some inspiration the editor throws the following (not so good choices) in the ring to get the ball rolling;
